I am working on my Ruby on Rails skills and also trying to learn NodeJS.
I find myself liking Ruby on Rails more and more everyday i use it.
NodeJS is a really cool technology which really takes Javascript to another level.
They say if your going to learn one language in the next 5 years, Javascript should be the one you pick.
I tend to think that Python is still a must learn programming language along with Javascript.
I started doing web development using PHP and MySQL in 2001. In 2003, I became very interested in ASP.NET and remember thinking it was the coolest thing in the world as a young developer. I put in a few months of heavy learning and became comfortable with .NET and then landed a full time .NET developer job in 2005. Currently, i still hold the ASP.NET developer job. I will always have a need to stay update to with .NET/Microsoft web products. This site is actually built on ASP.NET MVC 4.
However, times change and new technology is constantly being introduced. It's hard not to atleast do some basic sandboxing. Therefore, my new interests include Javascript (Jquery and Nodejs) and Ruby on Rails.
